When you book a closed stack item in advance, you can choose to book the first available item. This way, you may not need to wait as long as you would for a particular closed stack item (or copy of a title).
To book the first available closed stack item in advance
Search for a library item that your library allows you to book in advance.
At the summary list or the detailed title (or full bibliographic) information, click Request Item next to the item that you want.
If the library does not allow advanced booking, Information Portal displays the page to request the item, or a message saying that the title is not available for booking in advance. Also, if all of the items for the title are available for advanced booking, then Information Portal displays a message saying that you must book a specific closed stack item.
If Information portal displays the Select Request Type page, choose Place a Closed Stack Request on this item.
If you have not already done so, log in to your user account.
Information Portal displays the Closed Stack Request confirmation page.
Information Portal displays a message saying that your booking has been placed successfully.
